IPHEDIA.com - Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi indoor amusement park in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), located on Yas Island near Ferrari World and Yas Water Park. Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi is the third and largest Warner Bros theme park in the world.

For those of you who are going on vacation or are currently in the UAE, don't not visit this one amusement park. The park, which contains 29 rides, restaurants, attractions, shops and shows, owned and developed by Miral Asset Management at an estimated $ 1 billion cost, features characters from the Warner Bros. franchise, such as Looney Tunes, DC Comics, Hanna-Barbera, and others.

The theme park's facade features a 61-meter (200-foot) tower inspired by the iconic Warner Bros. Water Tower in Burbank, California. Like most major amusement parks in the region due to the extreme heat in the summer, this amusement park is indoor and fully air-conditioned.

The plan to build this park actually started in 2007, but was stopped by the global financial crisis. In May 2015, Miral signed a general construction contract with Belgian contractor Six Construct, thus continuing construction that year. On April 19, 2016, Miral and Warner Bros announced plans for the opening first phase park in 2018.

On 24 July 2018, the park was inaugurated by the Vice President and Prime Minister UAE and the Ruler of Dubai His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander UAE Armed Forces His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi is organized into six areas themed by Gotham City, Metropolis, Cartoon Junction, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch and Warner Bros Plaza. Gotham and Metropolis are based on the fictional setting DC Comics superheroes Batman and Superman, respectively.

The Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera Warner Bros cartoon libraries are represented in Dynamite Gulch and Cartoon Junction, respectively, along with Bedrock, which are themed around The Flintstones. Meanwhile, Warner Bros Plaza is meant to emulate the Hollywood past. (as/ip)
