Unique and Beautiful Crystal Cave on Iceland Skaftafell

 
The glacier ice cave is the result of a glacial or moulin process, where rainwater melts ice on the surface of the glacier which is channeled into rivers, then enters glacier crevices.

This beautiful and unique cave known as the Crystal Cave is located in the frozen lagoon of the Svinafellsjokull glacier, in Skaftafell, Iceland. Skaftafell or Crystal Cave has a length of 7 meters with a height of about 1.2 meters.

The glacier ice cave is the result of a glacial or moulin process, where rainwater melts ice on the surface of the glacier which is channeled into rivers, then enters glacier crevices.

Along with the air or the wind that blows, over time the mineral deposits then harden, while the water freezes and some still flows down the cave.

To travel to the Crystal Cave, not everyone can enter and explore the cave. It takes experience, skills and special equipment to reach this cave. Because, to get to the location of the travel field that must be traversed in the form of ice whose surface is slippery.

For tourists who dare try to explore this cave will be treated to be like the blue color of the sea which is the hallmark of the cave. (as/ip)
