The national park, which has an area of 2,051 kilometers, consists of peat swamp forest, freshwater swamp forest and riparian forest in South Sumatra Province. The western part of the national park is bordered by the Jambi Province Berbak National Park.
To reach Sembilang National Park, from Palembang to Sungsang, about 2 hours by chartered motorboat, plus 2 hours to the location. The best time to visit this national park is between June and August.
